Course Description
This course is a survey of Medieval Europe from the transformation of the Roman Empire in the 5th century though the beginning of the late Middle Ages. The emphases in this course will be on political, economic, and Church history, though other areas will not be ignored.

Course Objectives
1. To provide the student with a general knowledge of the events and developments in Medieval Europe

2. To raise issues of interest today through focus on certain topics in the Middle Ages

3. To give the student a better understanding of the types of information available to them on the internet and also how to evaluate this information

4. To improve critical writing, oral communication, reading and computer skills through the assignments.
